Mission

CBeRa’s mission is to enhance the scientific excellence and innovation capacity of the Católica Biomedical Research Centre (CBR) at Universidade Católica Portuguesa by establishing a competitive research line in Complex Networks and Systems (CNS) science. Through the recruitment of a high-level ERA Chair and the formation of a permanent CNS research team, the project will drive institutional alignment with European Research Area priorities.

CBeRa promotes integrative, multiscale approaches to biomedical challenges, aiming to foster systemic insights into health and disease, strengthen CNS-based education, and implement structural reforms that support Open Science, internationalisation, and long-term research sustainability.
